Slyme Safety Hazards!

We want every Slymetopian to have fun, stay safe, and enjoy their slime the right way. Please read these rules before playing with any slyme.

1. Slyme Is NOT Edible

Slime is for playing, not eating. Do not taste it, lick it, or put it near your mouth.

Why:   Slime ingredients are safe for hands, but not for eating.

2. Wash Your Hands Before & After Playing

Clean hands = clean slime.

Why:   Dirty hands can make slime melt faster or grow bacteria.

3. Keep Slyme Away From Hair, Clothes & Carpet

Slime can stick to:

  • hair
  • fabric
  • blankets
  • couches
  • rugs

Why:   It’s hard to remove once it gets stuck.

4. Always Store Your Slyme in Its Container

When you’re done playing:

  • put it back in the container
  • close the lid tightly

Why:   Slime dries out when exposed to air.

5. Play on a Clean, Flat Surface

Use:

  • a table
  • a tray
  • a desk

Avoid:

  • beds
  • couches
  • carpet

Why:   It keeps your slime clean and prevents messes.

6. Ask an Adult Before Making Slime at Home

If you make slime yourself, always have an adult help you.

Why:   Some ingredients need careful measuring.

 7. Do Not Mix Slimes With Food or Drinks

No slime in:

  • cups
  • bowls
  • plates
  • food containers

Why:   It can contaminate food and make people sick.

8. Keep Slyme Away From Pets

Pets should not:

  • lick slime
  • chew slime
  • play with slime

Why:   Animals can get sick if they eat it.

9. Stop Playing If Your Skin Feels Irritated

If your hands feel:

  • itchy
  • red
  • dry

Take a break and wash your hands.

Why:   Some people have sensitive skin.

10. Do Not Leave Slime in Hot Cars or Outside

Heat can:

  • melt slime
  • change the texture
  • cause stickiness

Why:   Slime lasts longer when kept cool.
